Land of Fantasy

I was really glad and thankful that I had the chance to work for the San Diego Surf Basketball Team and the Beijing Aoshen Olympian Team again. Mainly my working relationship was tied up to the Surf Team as it was Ross, the GM of the Surf Team, invited me to go.

I didn't go for the purpose of money, but wanted to see some old friends who came last time and to gain more experience as well as know more people. Meanwhile, it was a rare opportunity and cool job for a college guy to have and deserved his full passion and energy to finish the task with a happy ending.

We went to five places in Hebei province and one county in Tianjin city during those fifteen days, and separated in Beijing at last.

Truly I was disappointed with some guys in the Surf Team this time. The disagreement,complaints and angers would only collapse a team's strength and harmony and resulted in the failure of the games. Not talking about the skills of basketball playing or the perfomance in court, a team had been defeated by its own players already before the game stared, as some of the guys cared too much about themselves and some things that had no concerns with basketball. A strong and competitive team and its players always worship the love and cooperation to one another and stress the importance of team spirit.

Though the team acted not so well this time, still some guys moved me after we chatted. Getting no payment and sometimes even having to drive to practice, or taking up the time of working to play ABA season, some buddies still insisted on their initial thoughts-to play basketball as a career, to persist on it as to chase the dream. And no matter whether it succeeds or not, eventually they won't regret for the things they've already done. For at least they've tried and enjoyed those moments of pursuing dreams. Certainly, I hope they could meet their needs and hit the goals.

Howsoever, it was quite a journey to me since I learned a lot from it. Whenever taking a job or task, it is always to be responsible and attentive. Good moments should always be remembered and cherished while bad ones should be dumped. Still I feel indebted to the opportunity Xing, Coby and Ross gave to me, and also to the help given by the guys from both Chinese and American team. Cheers to the wonderful moments together!
